Description of our house

We have a comfortable sunny house with three floors, built in 2001. On the ground floor you will find two rooms and a toilet; on the first floor, the living room with a beautiful view on the Markermeer (IJsselmeer), the kitchen, and two balconies; on the second floor the master bedroom with a double bed (180x220), a small bedroom with a single bed, and a bathroom with toilet, bath, shower and double washstand. Our garden (20 meters) is east/south, with a wooden shed. There is a parking place in front of the house. At the right you can see: Batavia harbour, with all kinds of boats/yachts and also a fleet of old Dutch sailing ships/two-master/three-master, as well as the locks for the cargo-boats and yachts. Weather permitting you can see on the left towers of Amsterdam...

Lelystad is a new built town (about 75.000 inhabitants) on the bottom of the (earlier) sea. Features: spacious, air, clouds, spectacular sunsets, a lot of water, nature, a lot of birds, green area, woods. From the living room we have an always-changing view: all kinds of ships, all kinds of weather, it is really beautiful. Possibilities in Lelystad: sailing, swimming (beach/indoor), golfing (18 holes, 4 km), fishing, tennis, surfing, shopping (also a large outlet centre Bataviastad, behind the Batavia harbour); there are several galleries/museums, restaurants, theatre and cinema. There is also an international known wildlife park (Oostvaardersplassen, 5 minutes by car). Lelystad has five harbours with nice restaurants at the water. Something about ourselves

We are Leo and Bea, retired and in our sixties. Leo was manager of an ICT- division in an institute for disabled people, Bea is a psychotherapist. Together we have five grown-up children (34-41 years), all on their own, and eight beautiful grandchildren (1-7 years). We like to travel in other countries, to experience life there. We like to visit cities, local cultural events, harbours. We also enjoy nature, sailing, architecture, photography, reading and music.
