Bright airy two bedroom home overlooking San Miguel de Allende in light perfect for artists. There are lovely 360 degree views from large tiled second floor terrace and from the third tiled patio with a tile roof, for magnificent vistas of The Parroquia. The large second floor tiled terrace is great to relax or entertain with views of Downtown SMA, including the Parroquia. The third floor has stunning views of the Parroquia and the Lake at San Miguel, as well as countryside. All 1 mile from the Jardin or center of town, so either a 25 min. walk, 10 min. bus public transportation ride (5 pesos, from 7:30 am until 9 pm), or a $25 peso cab ride will get you to the Jardin. Close to town, privacy, quiet and great views. The home is 2 years old, with gas log heating, heaters in the bathrooms, and bed room, ceiling fans, two bedrooms (one upstairs with a stained glass bedroom window and bodeva ceiling and one downstairs with a glass door entry into the little garden). There is a small office area with two hand made large computer desks with high speed WI FI, kitchen with purified drinking water, lovely carved dining table and lots of light! Cable TV: Eng. & Spanish, security system, secure parking area. This is a mixed Mexican and ex-pat or gringo neighborhood. We love the daily life in Mexico and the Casita de los Colibries offers this in a private environment. The food and artists markets are close, as well as tortilla shops, bakeries, health club, and SHOPPING.

San Miguel de Allende is a charming colonial town, a national historic landmark with an international community of artists, writers, dancers, musicians. SMD keep's it's Heritage on the Jardin (Town Square) with nightly promenades and morning coffee! Casa de los Colibris is a short mile to the neo-Gothic Parroquia (Parish Church), Casa de Allende Museum, GREAT SHOPPING, SUPER RESTAURANTS. Theaters, 2nd largest library of English books, art and language schools, Artesanias, and the Plaza del Toros! The Instituto de Allende and Aurora, as well as the Warren Hardy School are easily reached. Day trips include local natural hot springs and the cities of Guanajuato, Dolores Hidlago and Queretaro, the area known at the Bajio, the cradle of Mexico's independence. San Miguel is an art center with the highest ratio of art galleries per capita of any city in Mexico, also called the "Montmartre of Mexico" and compares to the art of Santa Fe, USA. International music festivals occur througout the year. The first two weeks of August the annual Chamber Music Festival is held at the Bellas Artes. Mexican Independence Day falls on September 16 and Fiesta de San Miguel is Sept. 29 -- when it's party time with dancing, parades, fireworks, flags and the Pamplonada or running of the bulls on the streets. San Miguel's natural beauty is found at 6100 ft. with birds, gardens, a Botanical Garden & great hiking. Third Sundays monthly, the Sociedad Audubon conducts a bird walk for the public. Marty and I are a retired engineer and retired nurse practitioner. We own a Gelateria in Arizona with our daughter and spend time helping her in the winter months. We love to travel and love San Miguel de Allende, nestled in the mountains with all of it's art, music, Mexican tradition, great food and super people. We do non-simultaneous house trades as well as rentals. See our other listings with homeforexchange.com. Our manager Yoko, will leave a lock box on the door of our home, located on Fray Juan de San Miguel. Leon - Guanajuato Airport (BJX) is about 1 1/2 hours away, there are regularly scheduled shuttles from the airport to San Miguel de Allende. Also bus transportation from Mexico City, via Queretero. A rental car is nice for day trips, but not necessary to enjoy San Miguel de Allende proper. San Miguel de Allende is about 2 1/2 hours north of Mexico City. There is excellent first-class bus service from Mexico City to Queretaro or San Miguel de Allende. The nearest airport is Leon - Guanajuato Airport (BJX), about 1 1/2r away, and there is shuttle service (by reservation) available to San Miguel de Allende that we can help arrange for you. We have a locked parking area, so if you choose to drive from the US or other locations in Mexico or Central America, there is secure parking. For example: Laredo, Texas to San Miguel is an easy day's drive on almost all 4 lane toll roads. ![]()
