Our modern 3 bedroom, 3 bath home, set between the beauty of the tranquil, indigo-hued Sea of Cortez and the majestic Sierra de La Giganta mountain range, is built in the Mexican tradition, with saltillo tile floors, talavera tile countertop accents, and painted Mexican sinks. The living room, dining room with outside private patio, and two downstairs bedrooms surround a charming courtyard with fountain. One downstairs bedroom is en suite with soaking tub, double sinks, and two full sized beds, hand carved and painted with custom “sun and moon” designs - ideal for second couple or children. The third downstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed, armoir, and large, casement windows opening to the interior courtyard; this bedroom is served by a third bathroom entered from the courtyard.
The dining area, open to living room, has Hacienda table and upholstered chairs comfortably seating eight. French doors in the dining room open to a private patio garden. There is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, and air conditioning units in all bedrooms and common areas.
On the upper level is a large, private master en suite entered from the second story deck. Master has a king sized bed (all beds have top quality mattresses), Mexican tile shower, and large closet. Enjoy morning coffee on the large deck with view of the Giganta mountains.
Our Casa is a two-minute stroll from the beach, also several homes away from an award winning golf course. You will have access to the amenities of the Inn at Loreto Bay, including dining, poolside food and beverage service, shade palapas with beach chairs, and kayak rentals. Another community pool is a block from our Casa. Walkable to a convenience store, wine bar, and coffee shop. Loreto was named the #8 place to visit in 2011 by the New York Times. The waters of Loreto Bay are part of the Loreto Bay Marine Park, inhabited by over 800 species of marine life and protected as a World Heritage marine site. Enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, scuba, tennis, hiking, deep sea sport fishing, and a championship 18-hole golf course. Book an island or whale watching tour. Or, simply relax with a cerveza or margarita on our private patio or upstairs deck.
Explore the charming town of Loreto, founded in 1697, the first capital of the Californias, approximately 10 miles north of Loreto Bay, with its old world architecture, historic Mission, and variety of shopping. Dine in town at one of a growing number of small restaurants, some featuring authentic Mexican cuisine in outdoor, courtyard settings.
Book a tour to nearby Coronado Island to see dolphins and sea lions, and snorkel off the island. Take a van tour into the Giganta mountains to visit the historic San Javier Mision. Or, take a tour a bit farther away to Magdalena Bay, spawning ground of grey whales – a unique opportunity to pet the whales from your panga (our favorite!).
Loreto Bay is located 4.5 miles south of the Loreto International Airport (LTO), served by Alaska Airlines and Aeromexico, a flight of approximately two hours from LAX. Aerocalafia offers inexpensive flights from San Jose del Cabo. Loreto was named the #8 place to visit in 2011 by the New York Times.
