The village where we live is very small and quiet, in front of our house, there are two churches. The biggest (right opposite to the entrance) is the more recent and the facade was designed by architect Longhena, who gave the name to the square itself. The second church is older and nowadays it is only used for religious ceremonies, in particular for ceremonies dedicated to Mother Mary. Loreo is a small village in the northern part of Italy, located in the middle of the Po Delta region. Thanks to its 3700 inhabitants and its old history and traditions, Loreo was granted in 2007 the title of “smallest Italian town”. Loreo is located at 70 km from Venice and you can reach it both by train or car. If you are fond for boats, a motor vessel is leaving for Venice every day from Chioggia, another nice town called “the little Venice” where you can have good fresh fish every day. Loreo is also less than 1 hour drive from Padova, 1 hour drive from Verona and 90 minutes from Ravenna, which are some beautiful towns in the northeastern region. If you prefer natural landscapes, you can choose between many outdoor activities in the Delta Po region where Loreo is located, in the heart of the Delta Po Natural Park, 20 km from the Adriatic sea, or have a wine tour in the wine area above Treviso and Padova. During the winter season, in 2 hours you can reach some wonderful ski areas on the Alps.

Let us introduce ourselves… My name is Mauro. I'm a Science teacher at a High School in Adria, a nice Etruscan town 10 km far from Loreo, and I'm almost 60 years old. My wife Gioia (54 years old) is a teacher too. She teaches History and Philosophy. We have two daughters: Laura, who is 28 years old and she's working in Treviso near Venice, and Francesca who is 23 years old and she’s studying Medicine at the University of Padova. This is our third exchange and we are really enthusiasts about this kind of experience. Last summer we went to New York and Washington. We don’t speak English very well but our daughters can help us.
