Nearby, there is the "Peschiera". A small lake, formed by the spring water of river Fiora and a little wood where you can relax and have a drink in the night at the little cafè. During the week, there are markets and, especially during Summer, there are little antique markets. Santa Fiora in the South of Tuscany at the borders of Umbria and Lazio districts. Santa Fiora is at the same distance from Florence and Rome , about 100 miles. It is an ideal central location : in close proximity you can find castles, towns of art ( Siena , Orvieto , Pienza etc) and several small lakes. The seashore is 40-60 miles far. The gourmets and the lovers of good genuine cuisine and . . . . principally of good wine, can find near Santa Fiora their destination: Montepulciano with its red wine " Nobile di Montepulciano" ( called in the XVIII century the " king of wines") and Montalcino (only 25 miles far) country of the more famous red wine in the world , the "Brunello di Montalcino". ![]() Something about ourselves
