Description of our house
My home will complete next year its first one hundred years of age - last year, however, has been completely renovated, from ceiling to floor, with brand new cooking area and bathrooms (one and half, plus a shower downstairs)- two bed rooms facing south to the beach and the sea (less than 100 meters away) - one dining and one sitting room with radio/hify and TV (no satellite, only Italian network), with adjoinig kitchen - one covered terrace. It is on the high floor of a two-stories buiding and, on the lower level, there is a small garden, entrance, shower, and staircase leading to a terrace and to the second and main entrance. No air conditioning (large ceiling fans in bedrooms) but plenty of ventilation and fresh air. Parking is not private, but it is right out of the house. From its complete renovation, it has been inhabitated for less than two months alltogether. It is, obviously, our second home.

Our neighborhoodOur house has been the first to be built in what later become Bosa Marina, the beach of Bosa, which is a little more than one mile inland, on the river Temo - Bosa is a historic medioeval small town, dating back to one thousand years, with a proud castle on a hill overlooking everything, owned once by a very important old italian noble family, the Malaspinas (are you aware of a glacier in south-east Alaska named Malaspina Glacier ? - well, it was discovered by a member of the family...). Bosa is an achitectural jewel, little known so far out of Italy, but becoming in the last years more and more popular with lots of people from North Europe, which falled in love with the place (and are buying all the medioeval houses at vintage prices...). Don't think that, in Bosa, you would be like in the Costa Smeralda. The place is completely different: it is real Sardinia, with lots of prehistoric sites very close, WONDERFUL sea with marvelous beaches and fantastic rock formations, food is a delight - night life is low-key but, if you really look for it, the swinging Alghero is only 25 miles due north.

I am a just-retired Professor of Ophthalmolgy at the School of Medicine of Padova University - and we enjoy to travel as much, as often, and as long as we can...
