The building is located in a small pedestrian street in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Turin. You're in walking distance to many of the most important historical sites, galleries, shops and boutiques of any kind and level, modern and traditional cafes and restaurants. One of Europe's largest open air markets "Porta Palazzo" is nearby, so is the Royal Palace, the Cathedral with the Holy Shroud, the Cinema Museum, the Egyptien Museum (2nd in the world),Museums of Modern Art, Asian Art, Italian History etc. You can sit in the cafes on the squares, sipping Turin's famous coffee and chocolate specialties, go to the parks for walking, biking, roller blading along the riverside or visit the Olympic sites (winter games 2006). There is a lively scene of music and art events, film festivals etc. Getting out of town or to other major Italian cities with public transportation is easy. Turin is surrounded on three sides by high mountains (the Alps), wonderful sites for hiking and skiing, on the Southern side there are lovely hill landscapes with small old towns, famous for their wine and local food. Two hours south of Turin you reach the seaside (Riviera Ligure) with colourful villages and sandy beaches. The climate is moderate-mediterranean, so you can enjoy your stay in any season of the year. ![]() Something about ourselves

We are a German/Italian family of three: Tony is an electronic ingeneer, often involved in international projects and travelling a lot. Jan (20y)studies economy at the Turin university and will only occasionally travel with us. He loves computers, piano and inline skating. I'm teaching German language and culture at the Turin university and organize workshops in movimento creativo (dance therapy). Home exchange means to us the possibility of learning about different places and cultures, meet new people, feel "at home" in a foreign country for some time... We've already had some very pleasant and interesting exchange experiences in Europe, Autralia and US, and we want to explore more places. With some exchange partners we have become friends, and they are coming back to our places for the second or third time. ![]()
