The appartament that we exchange is the upper part of a villa all of our property. It has 2 apartaments and the other at the ground floor is used from our family sometimes during the week end.
The 2 appartaments complex has a big garden where you can relax, have sunbath, cook in the wood barbecue,lunch and dine in a open terrace behind he house the ground floor.
The house is placed in a quite street, with an excellent view on the lake from its big terrace at the upper floor; as in the garden also from here you can have sun bath,breakfast,lunch,dine.
Inside it is very confortable,clean, with nice dining room with cable and wireless free internet access, 2 beds rooms well furnished,2 bathrooms and a kitcken.
If you want we can place also 2 single extra bed in the dinig room if your family has more then four members.
The location of the appartament is ideal for the sports fans:they can surf,kite surf, bike both in flat path then in mountine, hike with horse,parasailing,sailing,mountines walking,hike on flat paths far from the car roads.
In Gera Lario we have a very nice bike and hike flat road 15 km lenght and that is along Adda's and Meras' rivers and that will take u in the Valtellina valley.
All this sorrounded from the Alpes in a context of nature,smells, spectacular views, sounds that the Comos' lake offer.
The village and the house is also perfect for families with little children because it offers big green areas far from the streets and with a big playground for them.
At few minutes from Gera Lario there are many restaurants where you can taste the tipicals Valtellina and Valchiavenna vallies dishes and their special wines like Inferno and Sassella.
If you like to discover the attractive places of the lake at 5 minutes drive from Gera Lario,in Domaso, you can take a public boat that will take you to a complete tour of the main lake villages like Bellagio,Varenna,Menaggio,Como. From the boat you will see the old and typical villas lake-front with their spectacular architecture and gardens.
For the mountines lovers you can reach quickly the four over 2.500 meters selvage mountines of Pizzo dei 3 Signori, Grigna, Legnone, Sasso Canale.For the hard mountines walkers there is the Benina groups with tops over 3000 meters and where you can hav weekly tours in the mountines refuges.
If you like to discover the places close to the lake in the north of Italy the appartament is a very perfect basis:
at 15 minutes drive from Gera Lario there is the Colico train station that can take you to Milan with its teathre"La Scala",the fashion streets,the cultural and general attractions,the universities,the dome.
Always from Colico train station you can reach Bergamos' city with its old and fantastic upper zone called "Bergamo alta". At few minutes from the this city you find the Bergamo Orio al Serio low cost airport with cheap flies for every part of Italy and Europe.
If you want to use the car for your discoveries at 45 minutes you reach Tirano where is possible to take the special Bernina mountines train that will take you throught a mountine train railways in the Bernina glacier and that reach then Saint Moritz.There is the typical village of Chiavenna with its historical nice center.
Driving about one hour you reach Bormio, in the Stelvio natural park inside the Alps, with its fantastic modern thermal baths, the vips Saint Moritz village (Switzerland) and Comos' city with its shops, the dome, the typical streets.
Other point of interest are Turin ith the Egiptyan museum, Venice, the Dolomites in Trentino Alto Adige, the typical ligurian villages like "5 terre", Nervi,Alassio.All this place are known in every part of the world.
In winter the appartament offer the possibility to reach the places where to play the winter sports: Saint Morits, Madesimo, Bormio,San Bernardinoand all the other sky areas in Switzerland.
We could follow in the description and write many pages but we prefer to let you in our house a guide (not a normal tour guide but an experienced from our guide !!!) that will supply you all the informations that you need.
We want to close with a brief sentence that an american friend of our told us during her visit to the Como's lake: "it is a strategic place where you are reach all the point of interesting very quicky".
