We are looking for a short exchange break in November (NYC) and next summer; which is yet to be decided.
We are surrounded by natural beauty and our home is comfortable and inviting. Our home is a modern and spacious and people often comment on how relaxing it is and they love our garden. The house is located in the sought after area Tara Hill which is in North County Wexford, in Ireland's "Sunny South East" (although the weather as always is unpredictable in Ireland).
Our home is a split level architect designed house, finished to a high standard, with all the modern features you would expect, including a fully equipped gym if you want to keep in shape during the stay! The house sits into a well designed gardens in the midst of unspoiled countryside. There is no traffic noise; instead you will awake to birdsong and the sound of the sea. If you love to cook you will enjoy our well equipped kitchen and herb garden. We have two teenagers living in our home, however we do have a lot of art and glass and it might not be suitable for small children/toddlers with lots of energy. However if you like art, nature and the idea of a visit to Ireland with all of the attractions available here then we think our house is perfect. There is something for everyone here. We are five minutes away from a glorious beach, so walking, swimming and beach fishing are right on your doorstep. Our house is based right beside County Wicklow, described as the "Garden of Ireland". Just one hour from Dublin and close to many historic sites and areas of natural beauty, there is lots to see and do there. North Wexford itself is home to many beautiful long beaches. We live beside one of them and Roney point is also nearby, it's a lovely walk even on a dull day! The local town Gorey has good shops, cafes and restaurants and the area also offers walking, horse riding and golfing enthusiasts lots to do and see. There are also a number of historic, cultural and natural attractions nearby including the J F Kennedy Homestead, Ferns castle, Craanford Mills, and family entertainment such as Kia Ora farm and Pirates Cove. Wexford town, home to the world renowned Wexford Opera Festival, is half an hours drive away. If you enjoy the arts, there are many studios and galleries worth a visit in the area. Our home is also easy driving distance of Dublin, Kilkenny and Waterford; making it well positioned to spend time in the city as well. You certainly won't be short of things to do and places to see but its ideal if you want to relax here and unwind too. There is something for everyone here. We have completed two home swaps and pride ourselves in making sure any guest that stays in our home has a wonderful time. Its something that we really enjoy about the home exchange experience.
My partner and I have two kids aged 12 and 14 who are respectful and kind children. We like spending time at home and walking on the nearby beach. We are both relaxed people and enjoy relaxing when we get home. We love to cook and socialise and our home is perfect for entertaining. We have shared many lovely evenings with friends relaxing in front of a roaring open fire after a good meal and a few glasses of wine. We share our home with our west highland terrier 'Ellie' who loves adult company and children over 12 and our two cats. We love animals and nature and if you have any pets we will happily take care of them for you. As a family we are adventerous, patient and kind people.
