Description of our house
Our home is a 60yrs old, detached house in a lovely neighbourhood in Wexford town. Our house is elevated with spectacular views upstairs of Wexford harbour. There are 3 spacious bedrooms upstairs, 2 doubles and 1 twin. The master bedroom is en-suite and there is also a family bathroom on this floor. Downstairs we have a large bright and airy kitchen cum living area which leads into the conservatory and dining area that overlook the garden. The sitting/TV room has a wide selection of DVD's and videos for children. We have numerous games, puzzles, books and toys also, for children of all ages. The garden is mature and very private with a trampoline, climbing frame and slide. I am an avid gardener and there is a greenhouse and lots of raised vegetable beds at the bottom of the garden which you are free to help yourselves to during your stay. There is also a BBQ at your disposal. We have a Mercedes 4x4ML or an Opel people carrier that may be available for exchange also.

Our neighborhoodWexford is approximately 130km from Dublin, a 2 hr drive and a 15 min drive from Rosslare Europort. The house is situated perfectly for touring the east and south east coast of Ireland. Our neighbourhood is very safe and generally v quiet with great neighbours. We are a 5 minute walk to the town centre, playground and all local amenities. We have some beautiful restaurants and shops all within walking distance from us. During the summer there is plenty of things to do. We have the beautiful John F Kennedy Arboretum near New Ross and Johnstown Castle Estate and Gardens just on the outskirts of the town. The county offers a mix of mountainous scenery, river valleys with fine fishing and a choice of fantastic golf courses if you are a keen golfer. There is also mile upon mile of clean, golden beaches only 10mins away where we have our 3 bedroomed mobile home on an acre with private access to a fantastic sandy beach. We move there for the summer with the family. Steven Spielburg filmed 'Saving Private Ryan' on Curracloe beach. There are lots of interesting day trips to be made - Kilkenny is the medieval capital of Ireland and with its unique shops and atmospheric cafes and the beautiful Kilkenny castle, it is worthy of a visit. The Irish National Heritage Park is just outside town and the world famous Wexford Festival Opera also takes place here in October every year. We have family living nearby who would only be too happy to can assist you if require.

Something about ourselvesWe Michael & Caroline, have 3 children, Anna, Rory and James 10,8 & 6. They are great kids and are very well mannered and respectful. We have not had the experience of a home exchange before but are keen to give it a try and experience an indigenous aspect of travelling. Our interests include running, cycling, sking, golf, tennis, gardening,nature walks, painting and any outdoor activities. We are nature lovers who love the outdoor life and spend every summer at our mobile home at Curracloe beach(see photo) It is a truly wonderful place and very quiet and peaceful. There are lots of things to amuse the children nearby including the local tennis and boat club where they hold tennis and sailing lessons during the summer, but we just usually chill out at the beach and swim, fish, walk and generally have lots of fun. We would also be open to exchanging house over the Christmas period in 2008, with a view to sking or perhaps to catch some winter sunshine. Easter 09 would also be of interest to us, or October 08 as the world renowned Wexford Opera Festival runs for 2 weeks here with lots of fringe events and art exhibitions which is a fantastic cultural event.
