This is a comfortable, 2 storey country house with wood floors which is about 100 years set in 3/4 acre of garden with grass, a pond and mature trees. Downstairs there is a smallmodern kitchen with a granite work-surface and a small utility room with WC and washing machine. There is a living room with an open fire and TV and French Doors leading to the garden and a second living/ dining room with a traditional stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove. Upstairs there is a master bedroom and 2 interconnected bedrooms all with double beds. There is a small bathroom with bath and hand-held shower. Our house is set in the Mayo plains near the fishing Lakes: Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Lough Carra is a limestone lake is approx 2 kilometres down the road. The house is surrounded by farmland and the nearest shops are in Ballinrobe or Claremorris which are about 20 minutes by car or you can cycle. This is a quiet area and is a good base for exploring the West of Ireland and Connemara - Westport (a lively town with good restaurants, traditional music and pubs) and the coast including Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick are a 40/ 50 minute drive , Galway is about 50 minutes by car. Cong village is a 15/20 minute drive by car and there you can visit Ashford Castle, horse ride or take the Lough Corrib Cruise. Near the house you can walk in the grounds of Moore Hall which is located on the shores of Lough Carra and is the ruins of a 'great house' set in woodland. ![]() Something about ourselves
