The house is situated in Inverin, 2 kms west of Spiddal Village and 18 kms from the heart of Galway City.
From the house you can enjoy views across the sea of the famous Aran Islands and Burren of Co. Clare (both of which are some of the many places of interest recommended for day trips)
There are two lovely beaches within walking distance (approx 10 mins)and also nice walks to the natural peat bogland, nearest supermarket is 1km, and the local pub is also within handy walking distance. In spiddal village itself there is a lovely craft centre (see link below) where you can see fabulous crafts people at work in their studios, enjoy the facilities and treats in the bistro and then walk along the prom and beach front. There is also a market held every thursday in Spiddal and Friday mornings in nearby Moycullen.
While public bus serves both Spiddal and Galway City (timetables will be provided) a car is recommended to enjoy all that the Connemara area has to offer (and with our new motorway, you can now go from Galway to Dublin in approx. 2 hours)

We are Micheál & Linda and we have one daughter Ríona aged 7. Micheál is a secondary school teacher and Linda works part-time. Micheál is a native Irish speaker (although English is the main language spoken there's plenty of Irish to be heard around the village) and our daughter speaks both Irish and English. Ríona has been busy gathering up brochures and leaflets to make up a nice information book for our future visitors!
Occasionally Linda's sister, husband and two children (boy aged 9 and girl aged 8) may travel with us (but not always) and so this can bring our number in party to 7 in total (4 adults and 3 children)
We assure you that your home will be respected and cared for if you exchange with us. We are Micheál & Linda and we have one daughter Ríona aged 7.
