I have lovingly restored my stone cottage, which has taken me a few years and I'm really proud of it and hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Exposed stone fireplace, stone walls and stove are some nice features of my home and is the heart of the home during the winter. It also has underfloor heating for the winter. Open plan on ground floor means you can be cooking and chatting or better still you can be sipping on an irish coffee and be directing the chef. It is small and cosy with 2 double bedrooms and has a pull out couch so I have slept 6 in what is party situation.

My house is in the heart of the country, on the award winning sheeps head penninsula walkways. It is idylic for outdoors hillwalking and restful get away. I have panoramic views of sea and rolling hills. Quiet country pubs with open fires and local characters supping on pints or singalongs. My neighbours and family are friendly and helpful and mostly farmers and fishermen. It's great for a romantic get away with good restaurants and local cafes within 5 to 15 mile radius. Lots of my friends visit me here and love it. There are nice drives with views to die for day trips to Killarney/Kenmare/Schull/Baltimore/Clonakilty and much more. ![]() Something about ourselves

Hi my name is Sheila and I'm a technical drawing and woodwork teacher. I'm in my thirties and I am eager to get back travelling. In Ireland we get 3 months summer holidays and mid term breaks. I have worked really hard on restoring my home and now I think I deserve a well earned holiday! I've travelled around the world when I was 22 and know that my home in West Cork is as beautiful area as I have seen. I want to experience ski holidays and sun holidays in France and swing dance holidays in Italy and other countries around Europe and anywhere there are events of interest to me. I have a friend who would be interested in coming with me to different holiday destinations, also a teacher. I speak french and currently learning Spanish so I'm looking forward to all sorts of offers, I try to respond to people as soon as possible, I also like to chat via skype which means we can make exchanges more easily with trust of knowing the person a little first. I am open to making exchanges non simultanious and hosting people also. I have lots of people stay with me in fact it's very popular destination for my friends at weekends. I also have wwoofers and helpx volunteers who come to learn about building/carpentry and organic gardening. I've hosted more than 30 people from all over the world here and I love cultural exchange. ![]()
