The house is situated in a remote but spectaularly beautiful part of the south west of Ireland and is located 1.5km from the nearest beach. The area is dotted with coves and beaches, and the villages are full of traditional Irish pubs. The nearest village is 4 miles away so a car is essential. The house is an ideal scenic getaway for those seeking solitude or adventure in a beautiful landscape. The location is also an ideal tourist base for exploring west Cork and Kerry and suitable for those seeking peace and quiet or outdoor adventure.
Something about ourselves
Ann and Ger are school teacher and engineer respectively and owners of the house. Three grown-up children, with one still in University. We have done over eight exchanges to-date in South Africa, California, Spain, France, Canada and Florida. Interested in travel, exploring and meeting new people. We are generally flexible about exchange times although tied to Irish school holiday periods (June-August and 2 weeks at Easter).
