Our home is a comfortable, spacious and welcoming farmhouse. There is a large kitchen with a range and all the modern conveniences needed to enjoy your holiday. We spend a lot of time around the big kitchen table which can comfortably seat ten people. There is a utility room, mud room and downstairs shower room at this level also. Next to the kitchen there is a dining room which is furnished with antiques. There is also a parlour where the children go to play music. Across the hall there is a comfortable family room with couches and armchairs. The television and computer are situated in this room.
Upstairs there are four double bedrooms. The master bedroom is ensuite and also has a dressing room and infrared sauna. There are three other double bedrooms, each with a kingsize bed. The main family bathroom is on this floor, with a bath and steam shower.
On the second storey, there is a large booklined bedroom/study, which can sleep four in single beds. The Wii and Xbox are in this room.
Outside, there is a decking area with hot tub, barbeque and cabin. The cabin houses the treadmill and can be used as a quiet space.
There is a large garden with trampoline and nets for football. There are bicycles, go carts and a motorised dune buggy for recreational activities. We also have a large pond with a rowing boat and kayaks where the children have fun in the summer months.

We live in County Clare, with easy access to the cities of Galway and Limerick for shopping and sightseeing. The sea is thirty minutes from our home, where you can swim, surf and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
The Burren National Park is a fifteen minute drive from Spancilhill. This is a wonderful place to explore, to visit some caves and to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Our farm is situated about ten minutes from the nearest large town, so that you have access to all amenities (cinema, theatre, good restaurants, shopping, swimming pool, tennis courts, golf clubs, train and bus station) while enjoying the peace and quiet of country life.
There are many historical places within a short drive of our home. A visit to Bunraty Castle and Park is a must. Dromoland Castle, five minutes from Spancilhill, is also well worth a visit.
We have our own forest, twenty minutes from the farm. Here you can camp in total seclusion, with only deer and other small wild animals and birds for company We live in County Clare, with easy access to the cities of Galway and Limerick for shopping and sightseeing. Noel is a farmer, Sharon is a school principal. We have four children, three girls (19, 18 and 15) and one boy 12. They love to travel with us and we have already enjoyed three wonderful exchanges with French families. We have also successfully hosted some French teenagers here in our home. They love the freedom of staying on a farm. They especially enjoy the trampoline, go carts, motorised buggy and kayaks. The adults prefer to relax in the hot tub!
The exchange families have always stayed with us in our home before we travel. We have found this to be very worthwhile. For us, an exchange is about more than swapping houses - we also get to meet some great people.
We have a dog and cats to feed but we can arrange for someone else to do this if you prefer. We have fresh vegetables and salads for you to pick from our garden.
We have a Citreon C8, (7 seater ) or a Renault Scenic ( 5 seater) which you are welcome to use. Noel is a farmer, Sharon is a school principal.
