Description of our house

My villa is approx 50 metres from the ocean and is situated at the end of Candi Dasa Beach. The beach is ideal for swimming as it is flat water to the reef and has a sandy bottom. There is a snorkelling area just up the beach with tropical fish in abundance. we have snorkels and goggles and i have a stand up paddle board which is ideal for the flat water conditions out the front. The main villa has 2 bedrooms, one with air conditioning, open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area and outside/inside bathroom and outside shower near pool. The pool house which is more traditional and open style sleeps 4 people and has amazing views across to Nusa Peninda and Nusa Lembongan. I have two balinese staff, Iluh the house maid works from Monday to Friday from 9am to approx. 1pm, and maintains the house. the villa is now vacant all of july and to last wk of august 2011 for a non simultaneous exchange also november and december 2011.

Candi Dasa is located approx one and a half hours from Nyuragai Rai Airport, Denpasar and is a quiet fishing village away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. It is the most popular destination on the east coast and offers a classy alternative to the southern areas. In addition to the fine dining at the many restaurants in town there are a number of boutique hotels offering excellent food and accommodation. Ubud the cultural capital of the island is only 1 hr away. There are many things to do here, you can go to Amed for incredible diving and snorkelling only 1 hr away, Mount Agung is also 1 hr away and there are hundreds of temples and beautiful scenery here. The snorkelling and diving is fantastic as it is only a short 5 min boat ride to Gili Mimpang, Gili Tepakong just off the coast which provides an abundance of marine life. I am 55 years old, single and have just recently retired and moved to Bali (2009) to pursue a building project. I am now in a position to travel and see and experience new places. I was trained as a draftsperson and worked in local government for the past 20 years at Byron Shire Council, Northern NSW. The last 10 years i worked as a customer service officer on the front counter of council so was definitely time for a change. I love painting, riding my longboard and play tennis twice a week. I have loved living in Lennox Head and have made some beautiful friends over that time. I know whoever comes to stay here in Candi Dasa will love my place as much as I have and I will care for the house I exchange with just like my own. last year 2010 i had my first home exchange experience and travelled to spain, france and portugal for 3 months. this year i have a home exchange in new zealand in july and also hawaii in november to december. the villa is available now (june) to the end of august then from november to end of december. next year i'm planning turkey, croatia, sardinia, siciliy, italy and paris and am leaving on april 20th to august 2011. so i've been pretty busy emailing to arrange that. so if your interested in the months i specified email me for details. happy travelling
