Description of our house

We live in a 4-apartment building in Reykjavik and enjoy being able to walk pretty much everywhere since we live so centrally. In our apartment there are two adjacent living rooms, one has a super comfortable sofa (that makes a great bed for 1) and the other has a futon for 2, that can also be moved to the children´s room. We have lots of toys and DVD´s for young kids, and a big communal yard that is great for playing soccer in or simply picnicking. We have a private balcony that you walk on to from our living room with a large BBQ grill. We also have 2 mountain bikes that can be used to explore the city. In the kitchen we have a large 6-burner stove + oven for wonderful cooking of Icelandic lamb and fish and more!

From our house there is a short walk to Reykjavík´s most exciting places. It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk to the Pearl (a rotating fine-dining restaurant) in Oskjuhlid (a forest area in Reykjavik), the Kringlan (the mall) and Klambratún (a large park) where Kjarvalsstadir (art gallery) is located. On our corner there is a convenience store and two streets over we have a bakery with wonderful european-style baked goods. Walking for approximately 20 minutes takes you to Laugavegur (the main shopping street) which takes you to downtown Reykavik. At the end of our street and in the park there are great playgrounds for kids. Something about ourselves

We are a small family (our son is 1 years old) here in Reykjavík. My husband works as an HR consultant at City hall and I am a child psychologist at a health care clinic. We lived in the U.S. for years for our graduate studies and try to go back as often as we can to see friends and family. My husband has a conference coming up in Boston beginning of August 2012 and we would like to stay for 2-3 weeks in Boston from mid July till the second week of August. ![]()
