Description of our house

A beautiful old-style house build in 1909, fully renovated. It's 100 sqm in size and is on two floors. It has two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a double bed and a baby's cot, the other one is the kids room with a small bed for a kid, it also can be fitted with a bigger bed. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all on the same floor. The bathroom has a tub surrounded with nature stones, excellent for a candlelit relaxing moment. The interior of the house is very cosy and the atmosphere is relaxing, and nice. There is a sunny private garden in the back of the house, with a deck furniture and a gas barbecue. On the deck is also a a hot tub/jacuzzi which is always hot and ready for a dip. The balcony is on the second floor and has a nice view over down town, it is big, spacious and sunny. The house has two private parking spaces, wireless internet connection, TV, home theater system and a laundry in the basement.

The house stands in one of the most beautiful streets of old down town Reykjavik. Houses around all built at the beginning of 1900, with the charm of old Reykjavik fully preserved. It is right in the center, two minutes walk from the main shopping street, main square, the center´s grand pond and the park surrounding it. Cafés and restaurants are at your doorsteps. Dispite the central location the street is secluded and quiet. Reykjavik is a small city and within 15-30 min drive you can reach the nature and countryside surrounding it. Something about ourselves

We are a couple with a 4 year old boy and a brand new baby girl (due in march '09). The two of us are: Jon, I'm 34 years old, artist/designer. Birta, 31 year old, fashion designer. We are an easy going reliable and relaxed people. We do not smoke or party. We are very much into nature, art, music, good food and wines. We travel a lot and we are open to all destinations and dates. We have done one exchange before which was very successful.
