We have two homes: (A) one in the inner city of Vienna and (B) one weekend home in the mountains.
(A) INNER CITY Home
Close to the heart of Vienna (Austria) our condominium has 4 large rooms of app. 22 m2 (1 living room, 1 music room/library, 2 bedrooms for the kids) and 2 small rooms of app. 12 m2 (1 parents' bedroom and 1 storage room), including bath and others summing up to apt. 165 m2.
There are two entrances and two hallways, apartment is in the second floor (one floor above ground floor)
We have renovated our home (2011, 2012), 4 rooms, hallway, bathroom, washroom, kitchen are fine and in very good condition, so is the small bedroom. Storage room and second hallway are OK, but are being refurbished before summer 2013.
Kitchen is completely new(2012). It includes high performance induction stove and low temp. steamer.
New windows with double and triple glazing made in 2011 and 2012.
We have a high-high-speed internet access with speed up to 50 MBit/sec, cable TV, 42" flat screen, 3 computers, WiFi, hifi sound system, alarm system. The piano (baby grand) is in perfect condition!
In the ground floor you can store bicycles or buggies in shared lockable storage room.
(B) WEEKEND HOME in the Mountains
About 60 m2; 2 floors: ground floor includes kitchen, bathroom and toilet as well as a small living room (can be used as bedroom for 2 persons). Second floor has 3 small bedrooms: one contains 1 bed for 2 persons, second contains 2 beds for 2 persons and third is good for one person. So all together beds for up to 7 persons.
There are two wood stoves which give a wonderful warmth in winter, when there's up to 2 meters of snow outside. In summer you may enjoy the grill in the garden and the shadow under the huge tree. We have two homes: (A) one in the inner city of Vienna and (B) one weekend home in the mountains.

(A) INNER CITY Home
Our home is located in the 7th district (inner city) of Vienna, its a small district and directly borders the inner district, called first district, which is the historical center of Vienna.
It takes only a 15 minutes walk from our home to the historic city center of Vienna. 1 minute walk to the next grocery, 5 minutes walk to shopping street, 10 minutes walk to the famous main shopping street Mariahilfer Strasse.
Public transport, bus and tramway, are each a 3 minutes walk, subway is a 6 minutes walk.
In Vienna public bicycles are available free of charge (for usage up to 1 hour), the next self-service rental station for such bicycles is only a 3 minutes walk away.
Take a 15 minutes walk to reach University of Vienna (Schottentor) or Technical University of Vienna (Karlsplatz). Go for 5 minutes from home to visit little cafes or craftworks in the Bohemian side of town (Spittelberg)
For the last several years Vienna has been rated number one of cities worldwide in the "Quality of Living Ranking" by Mercer ( http://www.mercer.com ) or United Nations ( http://www.unhabitat.org ) , and ranked fifth in "Personal Safety" worldwide. Vienna has a lot to offer: see e.g. http://www.wien.gv.at for more details.
(B) WEEKEND HOME in the Mountains
This rented house is a small and lovely cottage located in the mountains close to the village Rohr im Gebirge, Niederösterreich, Austria. It's a 1h and 15 minutes drive by car from our home to the weekend home in the mountains. Just step out of the house and you are in the woods, when you sleep with windows open you hear the sound of nature like birds and the very near creek.
It's a 20 minutes walk to the village where you find a grocery and a nice inn serving good food.
About 4 minutes drive away you'll find a small skiing resort running two ski-lifts in winter time.
You will also like this home as a perfect starting point for hiking in summer. Visit one of the farmers for organic food (meat, honey, cheese, bread etc.). Infos in German language: http://www.rohrimgebirge.at(A) INNER CITY Home

We (Roland and Hemma) are in our end-forties. We are both business owners, Roland is founder of an IT Company and running this company for more than 10 years, Hemma is founder of a shop for juggling equipment. She started more than 15 years ago.
We have three kids, Simon is 13 years, loves snow-boarding, playing piano and teasing his little sister Klara ;-). Klara is 9 years, plays violin and loves all kind of acrobatics. Julia, is 4 years and gets all the attention of everyone!
We are interested in long term exchange for about a year, starting with school year in summer 2013. We (Roland and Hemma) are in our end-forties.
