Description of our house
Our home is a lovely open-plan space. The kitchen, living room and dining room are all together. There is also a bathroom and bedroom (queen size bed) on the main floor. The upstairs has two small bedrooms (single beds) and a computer area. There is another bedroom (double bed) and laundrey on the lower level. The back deck has a table and chairs for eating outdoors in the summer. We do have a cat named Blackberry. He is friendly and cuddly, but if this is a problem, I can make arrangements for him to be elsewhere. There is also a small suite in our house on the lower level which is rented out. The tenant is very quiet, and often not there.

We live in the Main Street area of Vancouver. This is a trendy neighbourhood in the center of the city with many ethnic restaurants and unique shops. One block away from our home is an elementary school with a brand new playground and water-park. There are many young families in the area with lots of kids to play with. There are two major transit lines within 2 blocks which run east-west and north-south in the city. The downtown core is just a 10 minute busride away. Vancouver has extensive bike paths along the seawall...leading to our famous Stanley Park, and wonderful beaches. If you like hiking, the mountains are a 20 minute drive from our house. There is much to see and do in our wonderful city.
Something about ourselves
My name is Julie, and I have two teenaged sons, Quinn (19) and Kevin (17). I am a teacher at the local elementary school, and so I know many of the people in the neighbourhood. We have travelled in Europe, Mexico, the USA and Canada. We did one home exchange with a family in Florence four years ago. My boys and I look forward to exploring your part of the world, and showing off our beloved Vancouver!!
