We offer a spacious house with a unique architecture and lots of charm. Outside, you can choose to enjoy the privacy of the courtyard or pick strawberries and tomatoes in the garden (ca. 800 m²). There is a swing and a sandbox.
The house has one and a half levels. The upper level houses the kitchen, dining-room, our childrens' rooms, a guest room with extra double-bed (sofa), the bathroom with shower and bathtub, and the guest-WC.
In the lower level, you find a study room, living room and parents' bedroom en-suite, divided with sliding-doors.

Our street has only around 15 houses and has therefore basically no car-traffic. The neighbourhood is extremely friendly and helpful and there are kids from 0 until 15. You will be welcomed with open arms!
The house is situated in the the hilly and green area of Nordsealand with lots of woods and lakes. To the south there is 20 km to central Copenhagen with all its attractions. To the east there is an 8 km ride to the beaches of Oresund. To the north you will find the modern art museum Louisiana (20 km), three wonderful castles (Frederiksborg (13 km), Fredensborg (16 km) and Elsinore (25 km) and the northern coast with great beaches and dunes, e.g. Tidsvildeleje or Hornbæk (35 km).
Birkerød is a charming surburbian city of app. 20.000 inhabitants with very good shopping facilities, restaurants, a 900 year old church, cinema, swimming pool and open air pool - though we enjoy to bath in Sjælsø - a lake just 2 km from the house with beach and a very good restaurant.
We live 600 meters from the urban railway-station. From here, it is a 22 minutes ride to the heart of Copenhagen (Trains run every ten minutes) and a one hour ride to Sweden. We have got four good bikes in the garage (two of them with seats for kids). Our street has only around 15 houses and has therefore basically no car-traffic. We both work in Copenhagen (in a ministry and a private company) and love having one foot in the city and the other barefooted in our garden. We are new to homeforexchange but have swapped houses before and think it is a great way to explore other places.
