We have two properties that someone can enjoy. Our main house is quite new and large. It has a large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, open living room and dining room separated by a gaz fireplace, and a large kitchen (best feature) with attached sun room. From the sun room, you can exit to a large deck with gazebo. There are two barbecues - one propane and one charcoal. A laundry room and second bathroom are also on the main floor. The walk out basement has lots of windows and an outdoor access. It has 2 bedrooms (single bunk beds in one and queen size bed in the other), a bathroom and a large family room.
Our second place. which is an hour from Sudbury, is a small cabin on Lake Nipissing, the largest lake in Northern Ontario. The lake offers great fishing and boating (see last 4 pictures). We live in the country on 5 acres of land and it is extremely quiet around here - except for the crickets. Downtown Sudbury is only 15 minutes away and you can also drive to the town of Lively or Copper Cliff within minutes.
Sudbury is the largest city in Northern Ontario. It has one of the largest French speaking populations outside Quebec. With 330 lakes within its city limits, there is lots to do around the water (sailing, fishing, swimming, skating lake in winter, hockey on ice, etc.). There are great hiking trails, cross country sky trails, horse back riding facilities right next door and lots of other outdoor activities to do. There are 2 great museums and lots of parks and open space. For more information on things to do in Sudbury, you can visit http://www.sudburytourism.ca.
We are an easy 4 or 5 hour drive from Toronto, Ottawa or Sault Ste. Marie and only an hour or two from Killarney or Manitoulin Island...which are great tourist destinations. We have lived in Sudbury for approximately 6 years. We moved here from Ottawa to take over the family business which is a used book store (BAY USED BOOKS). We have found the people here extremely friendly and more relaxed than in the big city.
We all love to travel and one of our favorite trips was a 5 month visit to Europe when Vincent was only 3. We are looking for a way to do this again and would be open to going anywhere different and interesting. We do not smoke and don`t have pets and are quite flexible with our time.
