Belle-Haven is an Australian between-the-wars period home that has been fully renovated, sympathetically combining old with new. The house has 4 bedrooms (1 downstairs), 2 bathrooms (1 downstairs), separate dining room with fireplace, TV area, large open room with a 10 seater dining table, laundry/craft area (downstairs) and kitchen. There is a balcony that overlooks a grassy backyard and paved area with a small vegetable patch.
We take great pride in our house, keeping it clean and tidy. We would care for your house as we would our own.

The house is in the suburbs of Sydney about 16km from the city centre. We are an easy 5-10 minute walk to the nearest railway station and bus interchange. The city centre is 40 minutes by train and 45 minutes average by bus. While the area is peaceful, it is close by arterial roads that lead to the Central, North and South coasts as well as the Blue Mountains. Sydney Olympic Park is an easy 15 minute drive from our home. Ferry wharfs are close at hand by bus and provide a lovely way to access the city.
Many private and State run primary and secondary schools are easily accessible from this centrally located house. Similarly, Sydney's major universities are close at hand, particularly Macquarie University which is a short 15 minute drive from the house and accessible by public transport.
Local places to go: good shopping, many restaurants, clubs and pubs, cinemas, kid-friendly parks
Local activities: walking, cycling, long/short drives, beaches, theatres, galleries, zoo, Sydney's tourist attractions, several large shopping malls close by.

We (Sue and Mark) are a Sydney based family (2 adults, one 9yr girl) that would like to spend 12 months in England from December 2012 to December 2013. We also have 2 older children (17yr boy & 21yr girl) who may visit us while we are abroad. Ours is a non-smoking home.
Our first preference would be a 12 months stay, however a combination of several shorter home exchange periods would be considered.
Mark would be doing some off campus studying at Cambridge for part of our stay but would need to attend the university on several occasions. We would like to be based in Cambridgeshire if possible. A semi-rural lifestyle would be ideal but this is not essential and we would consider all offers.
Mark is an Art teacher and academic administrator at a nearby boys' boarding school. Sue is an environmental scientist at a major university in Sydney. Georgia is 9 years old and attends a Catholic primary school. She loves dancing and horses. Our eldest, Emma (21 years) works in finance and studies in the city. Jesse, our 17 year old son is a boarder at Mark's school and will look to complete a GAP year in the UK in 2013. He is a mad keen footballer and cricketer. We are looking for a lovely change of pace and lifestyle for 12 months in the UK.
