Originally founded as the vacation spot for San Francisco families looking to enjoy the beach and seeking to escape the chilly San Francisco winds. Located just 20 minutes from San Francisco by car or ferry. A great way to spend a day is to ride your bikes along the beach to the ferry, enjoy the beautiful views of San Francisco as you cross the bay and then explore CA's greatest city on foot or on your bike. The house is a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 10 minute walk from downtown -- a wonderful area filled with restaurants and a theatre. 20 minutes from Berkeley with its cultural and outdoor offerings. Close to Marin Headlands and Briones Park for great hiking. 2+ hours from the Sierra Mountains and Lake Tahoe. Possible exchange for second home in the mountains as well.
