Our house is situated in village Resenbro and our garden ends at river Gudenaaen(Denmark's largest river). Resenbro is 7 km downstream from Silkeborg, the central town in Denmarks lake district (50.000 enh.). Plenty of hiking possibilities along the river and in forest within walking distance. 1 km to golf course. Several swimming lakes within 2-10 km. 3 km to grocery shops, 7 km to town center with plenty of shopping, cafes and restaurants, cinema etc. The buss to town stops 200 m from our house. 70 km drive to Legoland (the original one!), 40 km to Århus, the "capital" of Jutland. 1 hour drive to the sea and great beaches (both the east- and westcoast of Jutland) 3 hour drive to Copenhagen and 3 hours to Sweden. Lots of family and friends nearby that can help you out on practical issues and give turist advice. We are Bettina (47) and Peder (51), a married couple with a 16y old calm and carefull daughter, Nadia. All non-smokers. We are both professionals (Project Manager and Managing Director) and love travelling whenever we can find the time. We have done 4 successfull home exchanges in the past (2*Canada, France and Norway) and love this way of experiencing a foreign country almost like a resident. We like being near towns/capitals but also love nature and wildlife, hiking, canooing, skiing etc. We have 2 gentle, cute cats that we hope you will take care of during your stay. They require nothing but food, water and a bit of affection. In the summer of 2012 our aim is to go to Iceland, New Zealand or Canada, and include 2-3 weeks of home exchange(s). During Christmas 2011 we would love to go skiing in Austria, Sweden or Norway - or somewhere else in Europe. For skiing we may travel with a couple of friends (total 4 adults and 4 kids age 12-17).
