The Quantock Hills was the UK's first designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It is an upland maritime area of moors with a large population of red deer and wild ponies. The coast is a half an hours drive from the cottage with beaches better suited to walking, rock pooling and foraging rather than swimming. Minehead (45 mins) has one of the UK's best indoor water parks.
