Our home is a light and bright, brick tri-level house located in a quiet cul-de-sac, with a bush reserve at one end. The house has been fully renovated. There is a small family room and full kitchen on the entry level. The kitchen has all modern stainless steel appliances including an expresso machine, and opens out onto a paved outdoor entertaining area and garden, with mostly native plants. Downstairs is the lounge room with comfortable and stylish leather lounges, a 106cm HD plasma TV, Nintendo wii, iPod dock, and the 4th bedroom with separate toilet. A 8m inground solar heated swimming pool is located off the lounge room. Upstairs is the main bedroom with ensuite and robe, 2 single bedrooms, and the main bathroom. All the bedrooms open onto a north facing balcony with bushland views and a lovely sea breeze. We have a separate double garage with remote controlled door.

We live on Sydney's Northern Beaches, just 20 km from the CBD. Dee Why Beach is 5 minutes away and has a patrolled surf beach and surf school. Most of the beaches here also have ocean pools and rock platforms. Dee Why Beach has great alfresco restaurants and cafes along the strip called The Strand. There are numerous cliff top walks along the beaches north and south of us. Narrabeen Lagoon is 10 minutes away, where you can walk or ride along a shared-access path around much of the lake. Stop and feed the ducks or go fishing, kayaking or pedal boating. Pittwater, an aquatic playground for sailing, boating, fishing is 20 minutes away. Manly Beach is 15 min away - take the famous Manly Ferry for one of the most panaromic cruises in the world. And Sydney city with it's stunning harbour is an easy bus ride from just across the road from our house. Climb the Harbour Bridge, see a concert at the Opera House, walk through the Botanic Gardens, visit the many galleries and museums, Darling Harbour & Cockle Bay, Wildlife World & Sydney Aquarium, historic Rocks area, waterfront Circular Quay, shop at the 19th century Queen Victoria Building, Chinatown. Sydney is a magnet for exciting outdoor events of all types. We are also just a short day trip from the Blue Mountains, Canberra, Port Stephens, and the Hunter Valley wine region.

Our names are James and Sharon and we are busy parents in our 40s. Our two young boys are 8 and 11 years old, and we also have a Golden Retriever puppy born March 13 and 2 budgies. The pets can be looked after by friends if necessary, but they are lovely to have around. James works locally in environmental project management and Sharon works as a safety officer in the construction industry. We love packing the children up and exploring different areas near and far. We have done 7 home exchanges previously in New Caledonia, New Zealand, Queensland, ACT, and Port Stephens (NSW). We always treat homes we are visiting with absolute care and respect and can supply very good references from prior exchanges if required. Unfortunately, we are largely restricted to NSW school holidays, however would be prepared to take the kids out of school early for overseas holidays. We look forward to hearing from you and reply to all emails.
