Description of our house

Our apartment is contained in a period, historic building dating 1850's. It occupies the whole first floor of the building and it is accessed by two flights of stairs. The apartment has been decorated to a very high standard. Our style is reflected in the enclosed pictures and we have mixed the original features of the period with a very elegant, modern and minimal look. The apartment has a sunny disposition, with high ceilings and three quarter length original sash windows, still in perfect order!. There are two fire places, one in the lounge and one in the second bedroom and furthermore, a real wood burning cast iron stove in our spacious kitchen. The apartment has two large bedrooms, one with en-suite toilet and shower room and a further ample bathroom which has retained an original period roll top bath. Our lounge is spacious and has a large sofa and a wide screen flat TV above the fireplace, we offer satellite TV, Wii and a DVD player. Car parking is available on the property. We love it and we hope you will too!

We are located in the Lansdown area within Cheltenham Spa, in the heart of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. Cheltenham is well known as one of the two best preserved Georgian towns in England, after Bath Spa. It is also Britain's most important festival town, from music, beer, literature to science and gastronomy!. The town has a world reputation for horse racing and it holds one of the premier races, the Gold Cup Festival. The Lansdown area has some of the best preserved Georgian architecture and urban landscape within Cheltenham. Our property is 10 minutes by foot to the Montpellier area where the most popular bars, shops and restaurants are. The neighbourhood is very quiet and residential and streets are lined with mature lime trees. There is a cycle path outside the house that will take you into town and beyond and also a bus stop within metres to the house. The railway station is only 5 mins away by foot. From here, you can travel to London in under two hours. Oxford is only an hour's drive away. The nearest airports are Bristol and Birmingham, both international airports. http://www.visitcheltenham.com http://www.cheltenhamfestivals.co.uk ![]() Something about ourselves

Hi, We are Maria and Simon. We are in our mid 40s and have both grown up in main continent Europe. We speak several languages and are both professionals educated to post-graduate standard. We are non-smokers and have one small dog but no children, but we welcome your family to our home!. We love to travel and discover new places and are very flexible with our holiday dates. We would also consider travelling on extended weekends. We drive a 4x4 which we might be able to include in the exchange if suitable and not needed for our own holiday. We have had three successful exchanges, abroad and in London and we have had a fantastic experience with all our exchanges. We also have a delightful, full of charm, rustic wooden cabin in the Sauerland (30 mins. away from the ski slopes), in Germany, which we normally rent out but we would be happy to exchange with any prospective families. Please, check it out on http://www.belvilla.co.uk the property is called Die Kabine. We would also be happy to exchange for weekends, particularly with other UK home exchangers. Please, contact us with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you! ![]()
