We have lived in our beautiful, central air-conditioned home for 13 years and we absolutely love its comfort, space and relaxed yet elegant rooms and furnishings. Ground floor: living room with 52 inch flat-panel HD television, Blue Ray DVD,entertainment centre and baby grand piano; comfortable den for relaxation, sofa, 52 inch flat panel HD TV with Blue Ray DVD; large eat-in kitchen with all the appliances. Main floor washer/dryer and two bathrooms. Large eat-in kitchen;cozy dens with iMac 27" computer, large flat panel TV/cable/Blue Ray/ DVD; dining room with double doors opening to beautiful backyard patio/BBQ and heated 32' x 16' swimming pool. Upstairs: three bedrooms - one with two twin beds; one with single bed; and master bedroom with king bed, sofa, and 52" flat panel HD TV, Blue Ray DVD. Each bedroom has ensuite bathroom. An office with flat panel TV upstairs. High-speed wireless internet throughout. Loft: a bedroom/living room for a teenager with television/video games. Extras: 2010 Ford Escape, seats five with Satellite radio/ AC (depending on arrangements), bicycles,skis,golf clubs are available for your use. We do not have cats as several of us have allergies. So to avoid any problems we would ask that our exchange families not be a "cat" family either. We have a Bichon Frise dog named Charlotte (hypo-allergenic) but she would be with friends during the exchange period or with us.

Rockcliffe is a beautiful neighbourhood "country living in the city" with the city's most beautiful himes - minutes from downtown Ottawa. It is home to Embassy residences, the Prime Minister's Residence and the Governor General (you can walk the grounds only 5 minutes from our home). There is so much to do in the Nation's Capital - it is bilingual, so French-speaking people will have no difficulty communicating. Ottawa has so much to offer everyone in the family: a guided tour of Parliament Hill, the National Gallery, Canadian Museum of Nature, The Canadian Aviation Museum and Museum of Civilization are nearby. Or for an active nightlife there are cafes, nightclubs and fabulous restaurants in the Byward Market only minutes away. Across the bridge in Quebec, you can spend a fabulous evening at the Lac Leamy Casino including a five-star restaurant. The Gatineau Hills are a ten minute drive across the bridge also - featuring wonderful hiking trails, clear mountain lakes for swimming and canoeing, and mountain biking 20 minutes from our door. Nearby public tennis courts and public golf courses round out a truly wonderful summer vacation. Winter time is a wonderland with downhill and cross country ski trails (skis provided) only 20 minutes away in Gatineau, Quebec across the Ottawa River. Something about ourselves

My wife and I are media consultants. We have three adult children who are in university here in Ottawa - 25 year old daughter and 19 year old and 21 year old sons. We lead a busy and happy life - and we all share an interest in history and in visiting other countries. We are experienced exchangers, having had a wonderful exchange with a home in Ireland and an non-simultaneous exchange in Florida. We absolutely loved both experiences. The families who rented ours were very pleased with it, and with the use of our vehicle (in exchange for the use of their car). We are looking for Europe in the summer of 2013 - ideally two weeks - preferably Paris, the south of France or Switzerland but we are open to another option - in Europe. We would like to have another non-simultaneous exchange (as we did last year) this Christmas - either us leaving for the holiday period or the exchange family visiting Ottawa while we go to Europe next summer.
