Description of our house

We live in half of a renovated country house on 2 stories looking out over vineyards and the countryside surrounding Bologna to the northwest. There are 2 bedrooms (a master bedroom and our daughter's room) sleeping 4 people, and an additional music room downstairs with piano and fireplace has a queen-size folding futon. The very large kitchen leads out to a patio and large garden. Downstairs is also a living room (with fireplace, tv and stereo). There is a small bathroom downstairs and a large bathroom with shower and tub upstairs next to a walk-in closet. An open study upstairs leads out to the balcony overlooking the vineyards.

Our house is about 15 km. outside of Bologna, on a private road shared by about 8 other families. The small towns of Sala, Padulle and Osteria Nuova are only 3-5 km. away, with shops, banks, restaurants, schools and a post office, and local farms sell their produce. The charming town of San Giovanni in Persiceto is about 10 km. to the northwest. A convenient train leaving at regular intervals for Bologna to the south and Verona to the north is 3 km. from the house. The area is flat and ideal for cycling, with numerous bike paths and trails through the vineyards. Something about ourselves

We are Bruce and Candace, two American classical musicians who have lived in Italy for over 30 years, and our daughter Elisa, who is 18 and was born in Bologna. (We also share our house with two wonderful cats.)
