Katoomba is in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains. It is an area of wonderful bushwalks and a haven for artists and gardeners. The area is famous for its numerous small villages, cafes, restaurants, antiques and bookshops. There are four golf courses in the area. An indoor activity centre including gym and swimming pool is nearby.The village of Leura has an annual October LEURA GARDEN FESTIVAL when numerous private gardens are open to the public.
