LOOK MY ALL PHOTOS IN MY HOMPAGE, AT THE UNDERSIDE OR HERE: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23234279@N05/ An air-conditioned detached house with two bedrooms, two childrens rooms, two bathrooms, two toilets, a terrace, a big living-room. Internet is also accessable. This house can be found in a typically Hungarian small country town, called Marcali. It is in a traffic-free quiet street lined with oaks. At the end of the street there is a park and it takes only a minute to get to the shops, post office, restaurants, cafés, banks and DVD library in the centre. In the big garden of the house, which is 450 m2 and covered with grass, there is a sand box and toys for children. The town has got a Local Museum, a Gallery, and a spa with an open-air swimming-pool. You can go horse-riding in the suburb, as well. Our neighborhood

Marcali lies in the most popular tourist area of Hungary. Some of the best spas all over Europe, e.g. Héviz, Zalakaros, Kehida, can be found near here. The spa in Héviz is unique in Europe. You can go hunting in the nearby forests, travel by a small train through the forest in Mesztegnyo or go on a trip to a landscape protection area with a big fishpond in Boronka. You can also visit a lot of historical places e.g. the ruins of a church in Somogyvar, the prehistoric furnace in Somogyfajsz, the tower of Somogyvámos and the famous Festetics castle in Keszthely. You can visit the biggest European Krisna community 20 kilometres from the town. Marcali is 13 kilometres from the biggest lake in Middle-Europe, called Lake Balaton. There is a huge national park with different outing possibilities e.g. a buffalo nature reserve, places for bird-watching, a water-mill, an otter reserve and a small island called Kanyavari sziget. Hungary is rightly famous for its quality wine. There are several excellent wine-districts near the town, e.g. wine district of the northern part of Lake Balaton 30kms wine-district of Szekszard 100kms wine-district of Villany 100kms the world famous wine district of Tokaj 350kms However, some quality wine can be found around Marcali as well.

Something about ourselves

We are Anita and Gabor, a married couple with one 10 years and two 6 yars old (twins) children. We are both professionals (teacher and fireman) and enjoy travelling when able to get away. We have done a home exchange before in Nürnberg in 2008 and in Barcelona in 2009 but are always keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see yours. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email. Attention! Write simply, because I smatter in english, but we are good at German! You can write in this language too!
