Description of our house
Our home is a 58 mē sunny apartment (east exposure)on the 3rd floor with a lift. It is very quiet as it overlooks the garden at the back of the building. It has one bedroom with a queen size bed but a third person could comfortably sleep on the large sofa in the living room. The living room is about 35 mē with a fireplace and adjoining kitchen fully equipped with all modern appliances including a fridge, an oven and a dishwasher. Air conditioning in both living room and bedroom. Parquet floor. One bathroom with shower and a washing machine. The apartment has a large veranda with a big table and benches and a nice sea view. A 32" Plasma Tv, phone, DSL and wi-fi access are available. There is also an underground garage.

Our neighborhoodThe apartment is located in a very nice and secure district (in the upper part of Glyfada) just 15 minutes away from the sea. Several shops and food markets are in the neighbourhood and a supermarket is located just around the corner. The area of Glyfada (a southern suburb of Athens)is known in Greece for its upmarket cafes, well-known restaurants, boutiques, cosmopolitan summer clubs and its popularity with celebrities. Athens centre with all its museums and antiquities can be reached by several ways of transport: by car in 30-40 min depending on traffic and season, by bus in about an hour, by bus/metro in half an hour and by tram through a scenic coastal route in about an hour. The nearest metro station is 20 min from home.

Something about ourselvesWe are Irene and Athan, both professionals (lawyer and theatrologist) who love art, literature and music. We enjoy travelling when able to get away. We really think home exchange is a great way to see another country as a resident and meet new people from all over the world. We are both smokers but your wish of not smoking inside your home will be totally respected. Finally, we are open to non-simultaneous exchanges.
