Our beautiful, clean, and SUNNY APARTMENT has three rooms: a bedroom, a living room, and a spacious study -- plus a kitchen and a bathroom, of course. All in all, it is quite large (80 sq.m.) and comes with high-speed internet, two TVs (including the German version of TiVo), two DVD players, a washing machine, a fully equipped kitchen, and a nicely planted, sunny, and cosy balcony facing the south. The very comfortable and MODERN FURNISHED apartment is situated on the third floor of a typical Berlin pre-WWII residential building, with laminate floors, high ceilings, and truly lovely neighbors all around. Visitors have said that we live in a neighborhood that is like a mixture of New York's Brooklyn, San Francisco's Castro, and London's Camden Town Market with Parisian boutiques and the typical post-1989 East Berlin atmosphere altogether.

Our neighborhood
The apartment is located directly in east Berlin's PRENZLAUER BERG neighborhood, arguably the city's most beautiful and exciting area. While our street is calm and family-friendly, you will find cute little cafés and excellent restaurants, trendy nightclubs and cool shopping locations, museums and movie theaters, as well as everything from a pharmacy to the post office just around the corner within walking distance. Young familys, students, and professionals from the media and entertainment industry (as well as a lot of Germany's celebreties) make up a large part of the neighborhood's population, while it is at the same time amazingly international: You can be sure to run into people from all over the world in Prenzlauer Berg - and, of course, find everything from Russian specialty stores to finest Italian trattorias or French bakerys to all sorts of Asian shops and restaurants as well as DVDs from the US and music from South America. Famous Prenzlauer Berg-areas such as the well-known Kollwitzplatz, the popular boulevard Kastanienallee, or especially on the weekends very busy Mauerpark are only a stone's throw away. But the rest of Berlin's exciting places are not far away either: there are various metro-, train-, underground-, streetcar- and bus-stations within a seven to ten minutes walk, connecting you to Berlin's two airports, sights, and all other places of interest. You can even be in Hamburg, Poland, or at the Baltic sea with just a little train ride. Something about ourselves
We are Patrick and Bastian (32 & 30 years old), a journalist and a grad student in Chicago/Berlin, who love to travel, enjoy the world and explore different places and cultures. We like sunny beaches as much as lively cities and are always open to new adventures. With Patrick having experienced home exchange as a kid, when his parents found this a wonderful way to spend the family vacations, we are very much looking forward to trying it ourselves - and get in touch not only with new places around the world, but also with people from everywhere.
