Description of our house

We have a large house with conservatory (50sqm) and music room with an excellent grand piano as well as the usual things one finds in a home nowadays. We do have a number of rather precious antiques which is the reason we would rather not have very young chn. As the house is too big for us we have 5 lovely professional people who share it with us and since most speak English could be of help-the majority go home during the hols. and at weekends. The accommodation available is a bed/sittingroom plus bathroom in the attic as well as the use of all the other general rooms-kit. music room sitting room and guest room etc. A girl comes in to clean the main common areas once a fortnight and Herr Brönner clears the snow each morning in winter. There is a large kitchen garden the produce of which some of our guests have enjoyed although there is no work there for we have an automatic watering system.

Uttenreuth is a village close to the university town of Erlangen and about 20 kms from Nueremberg. We are surrounded by rolling hills and forest. There are great bus and train connections to Munich, Bamberg, Berlin, Prague, Berlin, Paris, Wuerzburg etc. There is a network of cycle tracks making a car unnecessary unless it is raining. Parking in Europe is a nightmare and public transport is so very good that we opt for that. Although I've given these dates we are very flexible so just contact us. Something about ourselves

We are a retired engineer and university lecturer with an incredibly broad range of interests and 3 chn. in Melb, Kaiserslauten and Jakarta. We are primarily looking for a variety of homes for the periods between Dec and the end of March in Victoria or Tasmania. Just ask if you'd like to come to Erlangen/Uttenreuth in the European travelling period. We are very tidy and GARDENERS. Non-simultaneous is poss, for we are great travellers and can take off in our caravan when need be and usually travel somewhere in Europe in the European Summer
