Description of our house
Our house is recent (built in 2000) and has a big "family" kitchen with a 40m2 living-room, a bathroom (shower) and an extra room (used as a playroom by our daughters and also as a bedroom too) downstairs.
upstairs, there is another larger bathroom (shower and bath), three bedrooms (one has a double bed, another has a double bed and a single bed, the third one being occupied by our 2 year-old-son).
Our house has a terrace facing the Pyrenees. We have a 1400 m2 garden with an 8m by 4 m swimming-pool that we built ourselves in 2004. Its access is protected by a fence according to the French safety regulations (we also have an alarm that can be switched on to increase the safety) we aren't keen on exchanging our house with a family with young children (under the age of 5) even if we have taken all the precautions to prevent any accident.
The house has a large basement which is used as a garage.

Our neighborhoodThe house is situated in a small village halfway between Pau and Lourdes (15 minutes from Pau, 25 minutes from Lourdes). The nearest town is Nay where many facilities are available.
You will enjoy walking and riding around the village and the surrounding area. The Pyrenees aren't very far(1 h), nor is the Atlantic Ocean (1H30).

Something about ourselvesWe are a family of five: my husband Yves, 44, myself, 38, our daughters Laura (11) and Audrey (8) and our son Romain (21 months)
I teach English in a "lycee" in Nay and my husband works in a factory which makes corned beef in Lourdes (he looks after the maintenance of the machinery).
My husband has worked a lot on our house; he's an expert in many fields ! (masonry, electricity, wallpapering, mechanics, ...) at the moment he's spending most of his time repairing an old 2cv.
I don't have much time to have hobbies at the moment but I like decorating and have redecorated the extra room this spring.
we have already done a successful exchange this summer and are looking forward to the next.
