Our detached house is decidedly deceptive. Beyond its exterior you will find a large, comfortable and well equipped 4 bedrooms home, which includes a nursery and spacious office and television attic area. Summer visitors can enjoy the balcony and garden, whilst winter guests have the benefit of a real log fire. We have enjoyed living here for two year and although we haven’t redecorated the whole house as yet (nearly done!), you will find a home in which each room is very clean, and one that has a collection of modern and antique furniture, a brand new bathroom and modern kitchen.
We have Wifi and a large collection of Anglo-French books as well as a variety of films on DVDs. Feel free to use our piano, computer and bicycles (3). We can also arrange for you to drive for local trips our 5 seater car during your stay. Our detached house is decidedly deceptive. The location of our home is rather unique. It has excellent transport links to the centre of Paris ; 30 minutes via the regular train service from the nearby local station. It is much better to use the train, however Paris is 40 minutes by car if you avoid rush hours! To the south, the forest of Fontainebleau is also within easy reach. The local area has plenty forest and agriculture and although graphically situated in the Parisian suburbs it belongs to the village community of Varennes-Jarcy. The semi-rural environment means that you will have an abundance fresh air and a large garden.
The village has a good restaurant, a bakery and a small café as well as little church. It has to be said that a more typical side of suburbia is not too far away but this can be very convenient as a very large super market and shopping centre with a cinema are 10 minutes drive from our house. For a more authentic French experience, a local market takes place twice a week and the nearby towns of Brie and Combs-la-ville can offer you local produce including the famous local cheese.
If you want to visit bustling Paris regularly but want to have more breathing space at your base and see more of the region then our home would suit you. Families may be please to know that Disneyland is an half hour drive away.

We are a couple of married teachers from England and France who first met in NYC. Our little baby boy is two. We love the cultural life of Paris but we also like our breaks in the countryside and foreign travel during the school holidays. We are interested in going anywhere in the world as we love to travel but we also like breaks in France. We have done 6 exchanges so far and everything was great!
Sophie is very creative and love nature; David is a music and movie fan.
Our house is clean and beautifully decorated with our own furniture vintage and modern. We will treat your home with the same respect as our own.
