Our house is very peaceful and comfortable.
It is situated in the countryside, next to the forest and only 5 minutes from the main town by car where you will find all the commodities (cinema, swimming-pool, bowling, shops, supermarkets, etc...)
There is a fully-equipped kitchen opening onto a large terrasse with BBQ.
The lounge is large with two big sofas and a fireplace, there is a dining-room, a library, 5 bedrooms (2 with double beds, 3 with single beds), there is also a workshop where we like to paint and relax. There are 2 bathrooms (one with a bathtub and the other one with a shower) and 2 separated toilets.
The house is very pleasant and overlooking the garden and the trees. Furthermore it is not isolated: we have nice and helpful neighbours living a few yards from us.
Notre maison est confortable, spacieuse et lumineuse.
Elle est située dans un écrin de verdure, au calme et à seulement 5 minutes de la ville où vous trouverez toutes les commodités (cinéma, bowling, piscine, commerces...)
Elle dispose d'une cuisine équipée et donne (comme le salon) sur une terrasse exposée plein sud avec barbecue et salon de jardin.
Elle possède 5 chambres (3 d'enfants et 2 avec un lit double), un salon, une salle à manger, 2 salles de bains et 2 WC séparés. il y a une bibliothèque ainsi qu'un atelier de création (peinture, etc...)

The house is situated next to the forest. It is not unusual to see rabbits, squirrels or even roe deers. People also like riding their horses.
The neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful. There is no partition between the different properties (like in the USA) which makes us feel very good.
The neighbours are very nice and helpful.
We are not far from Caen, the landing beaches, Bayeux (tapestry), Honfleur, Cabourg, Deauville. 2 hours from Paris and 2H30 from Le Mont St Michel (one of the 7 Wonders of the world)
You can play golf, ride horses (le Haras du Pin), cycle, etc...

We are a blended family of 6, Sylvie a University teacher, Hervé an art-therapist, and 4 children aged 16, 14, 12 and 11.
We have got cats who sleep in the garage next to the house.
We are non smokers and like traveling.
We have never tried swaping houses but are looking forward to it. It seems to be a wonderful way of discovering a foreign country and we would be pleased to have other people stay in our house and discover our beautiful region.

Nous sommes non fumeurs et aimons les voyages.
Nous n'avons pas encore fait d'échange de maison mais nous avons hâte d'essayer ce qui semble être un merveilleux moyen de découvrir un autre pays en y vivant naturellement comme de véritables habitants, et de permettre ainsi à d'autres personnes d'en faire autant dans la nôtre.
