We have a beautiful and spacious contemporary house with a large garden and superb views of the mountains. We are situated in a semi-rural setting 20 km to the south of Grenoble; our house is located in a village near Vaulnaveys le haut, situated at the base of the Belledonne Alps and a short drive (18 km) to the Chamrousse ski station (site of the '68 winter Olympic ski runs). The house itself has an open floor plan, including a large kitchen, dining area and sitting area with fire place, and a living room. There is one guest room with an en-suite shower. The master bedroom, 2 children's rooms, and a 2nd bathroom are located upstairs. The garden terrace is ideally suited for eating outside or just enjoying the views of the mountains.

Rural village (Vaulnavays le haut) with good bus connections (20 min walk to bus stop) to downtown Grenoble and SNCF train station/bus station/airport bus station. The closest airports are Grenoble-Isère and Lyon St. Exupéry (1 h from Grenoble). From our house a 20 minute walk will take you to shopping and restaurants (including a Michelin 2*) in Uriage les Bains (a thermal spa town). Even though you can get around with public transportation, we suggest you have a car to fully take advantage of all of the sight-seeing opportunities in our area. There are excellent hiking opportunities close by in the Belledonne Mts.,and slightly further away, in the Chartreuse or Vercors Mts. We are a family of four, two children 10 and 9 years old, my wife and I, who are both scientific researchers. We are French-American (bi-lingual), and one of us (Roland) is also of German background (German spoken). We enjoy travel and the opportunity to meet people in foreign countries.
