Our home was built in 1958 in a residential quarter called "Cité Roger", in the center of Montpellier, 10 minutes by walk from the "Ecusson", the historical-medieval center. In our home, we have one big parental room with a double bed and a bathroom, two children rooms with a single bed, another bathroom and a big living room with a full equiped kitchen and a convertible sofa. The terrace is also a place to live, especially between april and september when it becomes the dining room. The garden is not big (300 m²), but is very pleasant with trees (including a cherry and a apricot tree), a barbecue, a hammock and games for children (seasaw, toboggan). In the back of the house, there is also a second small terrace with a small table and four chairs that is especially well suited for breakfast. Our house is very comfortable and quiet and we hope you will enjoy staying there.

Montpellier is one of the most pleasant places to spend holidays in France. If you are intersted in History, the old medieval town (cathedreal, university...) and the gallo-romans vestiges around Montpellier (Pont du Gard, Via Domitia...) will fascinate you. If you are searching for exciting cultural life, you will discover the city's excellent museums, theatres, bars, clubs and restaurants. Many cultural festivals (danse, music, cinema) are oganised all year long, especially in summer, and there are also first league football, rugby and handball teams. The "Ecusson", with its old small streets, is forbidden to cars and is a very pleasant place for wandering, shopping or having a drink. If you like walking, there are hundreds of paths in the area, especially in the Languedoc vineyards or in the Cevennes mountains (45 minutes by car from our home). And if you prefer the seaside, the mediterranean sea is about 10 km from the city (25 minutes by car from our home). There are also many parks and a zoo if you have children. Montpellier can also be a good place to discover other interesting cities, like Nimes (50 km), Avignon (90 km), Carcassonne (150 km), Marseille (250 km) or even Lyon and Paris (2 h and 3h30 by TGV train). We are a couple, Anne-Cécile (32 years old, nurse) and Ronan (37 years old, lecturer in sociology) with two nice children, Youri (7) and Malek (5). We love travelling and have discovered together some very different counties (Armenia, South Africa, Malaysia, Sweden, Japon). We have already completed four home exchanges and it was an excellent moment for both families. We think this is a good way to have comfortable holdiays and to better know how people from other countires live. We are interested in week-ends (2-3 days) and small holidays (4-7 days) in France or Catalogna. WE HAVE ALREADY PLANED AN EXCHANGE FOR THE 2011 SUMMER HOLIDAYS.
