Description of our house
Our house is spacious, bright and an authentic French home. Located in the historic center of Quarante village, it is totally private and centered around it's interior courtyard. It has been carefully renovatated retaining it's original features, yet it has all modern conveniences, and all bedrooms en suite. It has many spaces where you can relax, including two terraces and one balcony which are south facing, so they get the sun all year round. Also an artists studio with adjoining terrace and equipped with easel and work surfaces. There is a traditional bread(pizza) oven and also the lounge has an excellent glass fronted fifeplace, with wood supplied.

Our neighborhoodThe historic village is set in the vineyards of the pays d'oc. The house is just a few steps from the boulangerie, grocery store, butchers, chemist and cafes/restaurants. It has breathtaking walks and cycle routes, with the Canal du Midi just five minutes away, and Mediteranean beaches thirty minutes. A regular bus service takes you to nearby Beziers from where you can take the train to visit Mountpellier, Nrabonne, Carcassonne etc. Spain, with towns like Figueras, Girona, Barcelona are all within easy driving distance. The Mountain Noir is fifteen minutes away, and the Pyrenees about an hour's drive.It is the perfect place to spend Autumn, and partake in local wine tasting as the vendage is just being completed.

Something about ourselvesI am a painter who lives in South of France for half of each year. Although I travel quite a lot, this is the first time to exchange my second home. I would like to spend this Autumn near to my family, who are living in Southampton, so anywhere in the region which is within easy reach of there would interest me. I take good care of this, my second home, and would be very careful to do likewise in the exchanged home.
