Our typical, lovely restorated old stone house "chaumière"/"thatched cottage" was built in 1810 and is situated in the countryside near Pont-Aven (5kms).
This is our vacation home with all comfort for relaxing weekends & holidays close to phantastic, white sandy beaches (16kms). Our home has 3 bedrooms upstairs (2xdoublebed; 2xsingle beds), two bathrooms, a large fully equiped kitchen with a scandinavian oven (perfect in wintertime!), a dining room and a living with a big, open fireplace. Upstairs you have the full satellite TV-area with a nice view on the fireplace & the garden. Our house is full of light and invites you in all seasons-a barbecue in the garden in summertime or a warming fire after a walk on the beach in the automn storms!
Outside we have a close garden with an outhouse (washing machine, dryer, outside furniture & games, bicycles...).On the south side, you have a lovely wooden terrace to take your breakfast outside..and on the west side, there is a stone terrace hidden by lots of camelias, hortensias.
The area is very green & quiet and kids will love say "hello" to the poney or the ducks near the water place...the surroundings invite you to walk, cycle or jogg around and discover the French countryside!
Indoor we have lots of toys and books in french or German as well as plenty information on the local area & popular tourist attractions.
Our house is ideally located to permit you to combine the country and the sea side in all seasons!
We are non-smokers...please go outside to smoke your cigarette, please - thank you!!
Please notice that it is our summer and holidayhouse and we have no internet access at the house-we will indicate you the nearest cybercafé in Pont-Aven! Our home is located in the green countryside near Pont-Aven (5kms). In the 19th century, it was a very famous city known for its mills & port. Lot of picturesque views inspired Gauguin and other famous artists and the Musée des Beaux Arts & lots of galleries and cosy restaurants are excellent to visit! All necessary shops are a short drive away in Pont-Aven. Take a look on http://www.pontaven.com . On Tuesdays, a lovely street market is near the river and the port where you can find fresh products in Pont-Aven. Quimper (airport) and its historical city as well as the Festival de Cornouaille (17-25.07.10) is 32kms away and also Lorient with its airport (44kms) and its Festival Interceltique (beginning of august).
Fine, white sandy beaches are all the long of the coast (about 16kms) where you can sail, surf, kite surf...you also can admire the river Aven by renting kayaks or canoes! Go for a trip to the most western point of France - la Pointe du Raz- with its impressing stones (85kms) or why not visiting the famous Mont St. Michel (278kms).
