For greater details see http://www.my-holiday-in-brittany.co.uk Our two storey stone home is in the heart of our small village set amongst fields of the 'Cotes D'armor'. We are across the street from a lovely churchyard with a bakery, grocer and hair stylist down the street. The large salon/dining room is filled with the carved wood furniture native to Brittany and with a stone fireplace at one end. The TV (BBC satellite), DVD with movie selections and CD player are in their own armoir with board games for quiet evenings. The dining table seats six and matches the antique carved buffet. The walls are rubbed a warm golden color and hung with tapestries. A step up from the dining area under the huge stone lintel and you are in a large and modern kitchen with frig/freezer, microwave, electric range and dishwasher yet in keeping with the age of the house with exposed stone walls. We have a large kitchen farm table with bench to share a glass of wine while the cook is busy. Up the staircase is the bedroom landing and two full baths, one with shower and one with a sunken bath also washer and dryer. There are 3 double bedrooms that sleep 6, the rose room with a double bed, the green room with two singles, and the blue room with a queen size bed, all well appointed with excellent mattresses, duvets and antique armoirs, hanging tapestries and paintings.We do NOT permit smoking or pets in the house. We live here half the year so you will not find any shortage in conveniences or appliances.

Brittany is known both for beautiful sandy beaches and spectacular rocky coastlines. It has historic towns and medieval villages with homes of stone and slate, not to mention the ports of Paimpol, Perros Gueric and Morlaix. There are terrific walks along jagged cliffs, Celtic dolmans and standing stones and sand spits where one can walk out over the sea. Leave time to also tour the many chateaus, abbeys and manoirs in the area. For sport enthusiasts kayaking, sail boarding, scuba and cycling are all part of the activities nearby. Tennis courts are in the village and an indoor pool 6 km away in Treguier. Kayaking is found in the village next to us in La Roche Derrien along the tidal river, Jaudy. For walks in our town, choose the paths that run along the ponds that connect us to the river, Jaudy. Something about ourselves

We are from California and keep our primary home there along the coast. Our holidays take us to our home in Brittany in the winter months and then off to our cabin in Canada on an island in the St.Lawrence river. We love to travel! We were able to retire somewhat early in our mid 50's and after raising our 5 children. Instead of downsizing, we chose to up size and try as many adventures as we can. My husband is wonderful at any household DIY task and so our homes are rich in detail and varied but all charming and in character to the region we are living in. Our home is NOT available for exchanges during the summer, but non- simultaneous exchanges are OK. See our web site below. NO PETS OR SMOKING, please!
