Our house is a modern, light, 210 sqm and is located some 15 minutes from central Helsinki. The main living area is upstairs where we have 3 bedrooms, a large living room and large modern kitchen. One of the bedrooms has a king sized bed. The childrens rooms have a "standard" childrens bed and a baby cot. There is an additional bed room downstairs. The main bathroom and sauna is located down stairs. As you would expect from a Finnish house, the sauna is very nice and is equiped with speakers, so that you can listen to your favourite relaxing music from your mp3 player whilst enjoing a nice bath. In the garden we have a sand box and a swing. The balcony is large and in the summer well suited for a nice meal outside. We are also open for exchanging cars (ours is equiped with children's seats).

![]() Our neighborhood
We live in a town called Espoo, which administratively is its own municipality but for you as a visitor can be considered a suburb to Helsinki. You are in central Helsinki either by public transport or by car in 15-30 mins, depending on the traffic. Our house is located very close to the sea in a nice villa area. There are excellent possibilities for either walking or biking along the shore. Helsinki offers a lot of attractions for travelers. More information can be found from www.visithelsinki.fi. You can also use our house as a hub for travelling for example to Lapland in northern Finland (www.laplandfinland.com/?deptid=16565). Lapland offers a variatey of activities from skiing to raindeer or snowmobile safaris. You could also take a overnight luxury cruise ship to Stockholm in Sweden or a day trip to Tallinn in Estonia(www.tallinksilja.com/en/tab3/). The former capital of the Russian Empire, Saint Petersburg, with its breathtaking architecture, is also easily accessible. (www.russianexpert.fi/matkat2/eng/). Something about ourselves
We are a family of four: me Samu, my wife Mari, (we are both aged 37ish) and our 2 little girls. The older girl is born in December 2006 and the younger one in February 2009. I work in finance but I decided to spend some more time with the family and I am currently on a 10 months sabbatical leave. Mari is working in accounting but has been home for the last years to take care of the children. We are doing a 1 week exchange in May 2009 but are looking for a 1 month (+/- 1 week) exchange in autumn 2009. We would like to swap houses with somebody who has small children as we assume the needed child "infrastructure" would be easier to manage. We dream of traveling to Australia for that period but for example Southern Europe or UAE are also of interest. ![]()
