Kew Gardens is a beautiful area with a village-like atmosphere, located on the edge of London. There is plenty to explore in the area, including of course the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and in the surrounding area, many historical parks and palaces (Hampton Court, Ham House, Chiswick House). Richmond, Chiswick and Hammersmith are close by and excellent for theatres and shopping. Kew is an extremely handy location for travelling into Central London. There is no need for a car, as everything you need can be reached either by walking or cycling, or by public transport(tube and bus)located nearby. You are welcome to use our bikes.
Something about ourselves
We are a couple who both work at Kew Gardens as a botanist and botanical artist. We have a nine-year old daughter, and love living in this area not only because of its convenience to work, but also as it is a great place for kids. Lucy is from Sydney originally and we travel back to visit her family every other year. Our next visit to Australia will be during the UK easter school holidays in March/April 2014. We have home-exchanged in the past successfully and can provide references if necessary. We are open to all offers from Europe, especially during school holidays!
