Description of our house

Our home is comfortable, clean and spacious. The well fitted kitchen, leads through to a large, light and airy sun lounge, which in turn has patio doors leading out to the patio/ BBQ. area, and private, sunny garden, ideal for alfresco dining. We have a second smaller lounge, with a living flame coal effect fire, which is very cosy and ideal those cooler winter evenings. There are two bedrooms, although as there is just the two of us now, (the children, have long grown and flown the nest!!) we use the second bedroom as an office/sewing room. There is however a single bed in there with a pull-out bed under, which could be used if required.

Cheddar is a historic and pretty village set in the heart of the Mendip hills, world famous for the Gorge and caves, and of course, Cheddar cheese, which originated here. Our home is set between the Gorge/ tourist area and the village shops etc. So although we are tucked away from, 'the madding crowds', we are, in fact just a short walk to either. There is a very good sports centre in the village, with swimming, squash, tennis, training equipment, and wonderful walks and cycle tracks, for those who like to keep in trim. There are bikes here for your use if you want them. Cheddar is well positioned for getting around. We are about; 1.5 Hours to London, 1 Hour to Wales (across the bridge) 40 mins to Bristol 20 mins to the coast at Weston -Super- Mare. ![]() Something about ourselves

Hedley and I (Naidine) are in our late sixties, have been married for 38 years, have 2 grown up daughters and 4 grandsons ranging from 19 years old down the youngest who is 3 1/2. We had our own buisiness, in the motor trade, for 35years untill we sold up and retired 4 years ago. We love the states and had a motor home out there, touring around, untill recently, that we had a lot of fun with, and met some wonderful people. Now we would love to meet some more, by living in an American home and hope that you too will enjoy our home in the same way. We have done 1 previous exchange which was a huge success. ![]()
