Our home was originally a seven bedroom 4-storey Victorian villa overlooking the famous 200 acre Harrogate parkland (The Stray), the property has now been converted to a contemporary 4 bedroom artist's home, gallery and studio (See my Homepage http://www.tonybrummellsmith.co.uk The property offers spacious living areas including a large modern live-in kitchen with top quality Italian fittings, and casual seating area within modern oak and glass extension that opens onto the garden; downstairs cloakroom with WC and laundry room; a dining room with Yorkshire stone flagged floor and fireplace with contemporary dining table and chairs that can seat 8; family sitting room with comfortable sofas and chairs, TV, DVD, Freeview box and Bose stereo system; further spacious lounge with solid oak floor which can be used as a fourth double bedroom. There is a spacious hall and staircase with original features leading to 3 large first floor bedrooms - one with superking bed, one with kingsize bed, and one twin room. There are two bathrooms - one with bathtub and separate shower, one with separate shower. The whole of the second floor is Tony's working artist's studio, and the basement is his framing workshop. The third floor is used for storage. Outside there is parking for 3 cars to the front of the house; to the rear there is a large attractive paved courtyard area with dining furniture for 8; this leads onto a lawned area with mature garden. We often have our grandchildren to stay therefore we have lots of toys etc that we are more than happy to share.

Tony and I are in our sixties - Tony has been a professional artist for over 30 years - have a look at his website. We travel a lot in europe - especially Italy - which is the main source of inspiration for his paintings and love to travel further afield when we can. We hold annual Exhibitions in our house and love organizing these events and so are therefore very relaxed about having people to share our home and workplace.
Our youngest daughter has recently moved to live and work in Melbourne so we are always interested in exchanges there. Kate now lives in Port Melbourne so we would love to be near her or easily accessible. We had a great exchange there over Christmas and new year 2011/2012, and recently completed a fantastic exchange to Bali.
We are now planning a trip for Christmas and New Year 2013/14 and are looking for somewhere sunny where we can meet our daughter without having to travel quite as far as Australia. We think Florida or Thailand might be good options but are open to other suggestions, and are happy for an exchange to be non-simultaneous if this works better. We would also be travelling with my other daughter, husband and two granddaughters who are 6 and 8. We are a caring careful family who would be respectful of your home and would enjoy and take care of it.
