Our home is an old farmhouse that has been made into a family home. There are four comfortable bedrooms in the house - one ensuite, two with double beds and two with twin beds. Downstairs is a big family kitchen/dining room with large glass doors onto the garden. There is a very comfortable lounge and a playroom full of toys. There is also a small study, utility room & downstairs toilet. Outside in the garden is a converted barn which we use as a big playroom. There is table tennis and a big TV. If you are a large party young people can sleep in this room - there are sofa beds but no curtains. There is also a further bedroom outside with a double bed. The house is very child friendly and comfortable. Outside it is just great for kids with the shallow river across the footbridge, the tennis court, the trampoline and just lots of space.

![]() Our neighborhood
Our house is in a very rural and beautiful location. You will see green hills out of every window. It has no immediate neighbours and is surrounded by gardens and 15 acres of our own land. A the bottom of the garden there the tennis court and shallow river with a footbridge to another wilder garden. If you like birds and wildlife it is really a magical place. We are in the North York Moors National Park. Whitby & the North Yorkshire Jurassic coast, York, Newcastle and the Yorkshire Dales are all about an hour away. Within half an hour is Dalby forest with great moutnain biking trails and a Go Ape treetop experience, The NYM Steam Railway, two theme parks - Flamingoland and Lightwater Valley - and a lot of wonderful walks. Something about ourselves
We are a family of 5. Paul is the Director of a Law College and Djamilla is a solicitor who works part time. We have a 17 year old son, a 12 year son and an 8-year old daughter. We have 12 sheep and 3 chickens although this may change as we are waiting for lambs. We are looking for a summer 2009/10 exchange and also for Christmas 2009/ We are also open to UK exchanges for half term and weekends. We can also offer our two cars - a 7-seater Ford Galaxy and a VW polo for exchange. ![]() ![]()
