Wapping is something of a Londoners' secret and is located in the east side of Central London (zone 1) right between the City of London and Canary Wharf. Our Apartment is within 5 mins walking distance (through St Katherine's Docks) to the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and, slightly further, Borough market, the Globe, Tate Modern and St Paul's Cathedral. A lovely walk is along the riverside path to St Katharine Docks, over Tower Bridge and then along the South Bank to Borough market, Southwark Cathedral, The Golden Hind, London Dungeon, the Globe and the Tate Modern then over the Millennium Bridge to St Paul's cathedral. From here you can take the 100 bus straight back home. If you're feeling fit you can walk on to Westminster and Big Ben and from there anywhere in central London. The other way is historic Limehouse with its pubs (including Gordon Ramsay's acclaimed Narrow) in ancient Narrow Street. Wapping is also ancient and has cobbled streets and converted warehouses. One of London's prime real estate areas it's quiet and safe. If you get bored of rubbing shoulders with Times' journalists then step over the road to the old smugglers' inn; the sixteenth century Prospect of Whitby, one of several riverside inns within strolling distance.

Overall Wapping is an excellent base to explore Central London or get access to the Olympic Village as its very well connected by tube, bus (the tourist sight seeing bus also stops 5 mins from our apartment)and river boat.

We're a professional couple (Eli and Eva) who work in the City (London). Eva is Spanish and Eli is English. We have lived and travelled all over the world thanks to our jobs but our hearts are firmly in Spain where we both grew up. Eli's mother has returned to live in Spain when she retired (see linked property). Our new arrival is baby Dylan who will be 6 months old this summer. We are dying to take him for his first holiday by the beach in the glorious Spanish sun with his grandmother Anna!

We are looking for a two week holiday this summer as sadly like so many others we didn't get any tickets for the Olympics!!! Depending on the dates, available beds and location of our swap, Eva's parents might join but obviously only if agreed with you!

You would be coming to our primary residence so we want to swap with someone who will treat our home like their own just like we will treat yours.

PS: We are also interest in short breaks in scenic places around the UK, perhaps a week in France or Italy and in the long term holidays suggestions from around the world.
