A larger than average family house in a quiet part of Hackney close to parks, river Lea, and the Olympic site. The house is comfortably furnished with antiques. Ground floor is a through drawing room/ library, with door onto a deck; kitchen/dining room leading through French window into garden. Garden is small, with a fishpond, flowers and shrubs. Lots of space for table, chairs and barbeque.
Then stairs up to bathroom with washing machine and shower, and a room used for storage overlooking garden.
Then stairs up to 2 double bedrooms: master bedroom with bay window looking onto quiet road; 2nd bedroom overlooking garden. Both rooms have fireplaces.
Then stairs leading up to another bathroom with bath--marble clad and elegant--and a single bedroom, overlooking garden.
We have two very sweet cats who do not travel well and would have to remain in situ. We are hoping that you will be able to feed them, but if you are unable to we will arrange for a standby carer.

Fletching Road is in a quiet part of Hackney, near Clapton Pond--quiet because it is not a through road to main streets. At the bottom of the road--about 150meters--is a series of parks along the canal and the River Lea--beyond which is the site of the forthcoming Olympic Games. Within easy walking distance there is ice skating, horse riding and golf.

There is shopping on Lower Clapton Road--an especially fine Turkish general store, organic store, and Italian deli and coffee bar. A short walk will also take you to Hackney Central for a supermarket, Marks & Spencers, and a wide variety of other shops and businesses. There is also Sutton House, a National Trust property which is one of the oldest houses in East London.

A slightly longer walk will take you to Stoke Newington--with all its fashionable restaurants, cafes, delicatessens, boutiques, bookshops, and street life. Stoke Newington also offers--for walks and recreation--a gorgeous 18th/19th century wildlife cemetery, and Clissold Park.

A 10/15 minute walk in the other direction is a fine park, London Fields, with a lido.
There are 2 farmer's markets within easy access--Broadway Market on Saturdays and Chatsworth Road on Sundays. It is a short and easy bus ride to the wonderful Borough Market.

A short bus ride will take you to Victoria Park, the Museum of Childhood, the Whitechapel and Flowers galleries and other venues of interest in east London, such as Columbia Road flower market and Brick Lane for Indian food and flea markets.

Transport to central London is facilitated by a train [station is 5 minutes walk] to Liverpool Street [12 minutes] and the Underground. Alternatively there are a variety of buses to the City, Islington, Camden, central London, and the West End.
